Vietnam is
now in a historical period with dramatic changes, especially its new social,
economic and political policies and the integration process in the regional and
global market. The business environment thus moves on that direction, and
Vocarimex therefore has to adapt itself to new circumstances.
1. Orientation for Development for the period of
2001-2010:

To proceed the
industrialization and modernization process of vegetable oil industry,
cosmetics and toiletries, to improve and make best use of the newly invested
machinery, to continue to upgrade the two vegetable oil production lines to
increase total capacity from 270,000 MT to 540,000 MT in 2005. |

To promote scientific and
technical progress in order to acquire new technologies and diversify oil
products, cosmetics and toiletries... |

To expand raw material
growing area and assure 50% of the material supply from local source. |

To diversify fields of
business: vegetable oils, cosmetics, toiletries, animal feed, investment and
exploitation of a vegetable oil port, warehouse and oil tanks |

To establish joint ventures
with foreign partners for assistance in capital, management skills,
scientific and technological achievements. |

To train managerial and
technical staff to adapt to new developments, in which marketing for the
whole industry is focused. |
2. Major Objectives (2001-2010):
Investment in developing raw material:
- Coconut: intensive farming in some provinces in Mekong Delta
- Sesame: expanding intensive-farming area to 20,000 ha
Investment in:
- Production of vegetable oils, cosmetics, shampoos, toiletries...
- Production of raw material
- Area of port, warehouse, oil tanks...
Efforts to increase vegetable oil output of Vocarimex and
joint ventures by 10% per year.
